The Brothel is one of New York City's only all-female sketch comedy groups. And they are hot. The ladies of the Brothel: Ms. Margaret Champagne, Ms. Sarah Spill, Ms. Marisa Miller, and Ms. Sara Polon, began working together during NYC's post-terrorism period. The mood was marked by anthrax scares, terror kits, U.S. Marshals on the subways, and comedy, comedy, comedy!

Originally, the ladies worked as two separate groups, Tofurki! (Ms. Miller and Ms. Polon) and Spill the Champagne (Ms. Spill and Ms. Champagne). The girls quickly realized the folly of their ways and joined forces to form The Brothel.

The Brothel brings elements of song, dance, improv, character work, and Fosse into their sketches. They have performed in such venues as The Shark Show, The 30-30-30 Show, benefits, comedy clubs, and more. Fans are eagerly anticipating their April show, The Passion of the Brothel, which will feature all new sketches from the Brothel, plus the stand-up comedy of Matt Goldich, Val Kappa, and other guests, and will be hosted by guest comic Shelagh Ratner.
